Global Head of Product

 

 

This role requires a visionary leader with extensive experience in product and category management with a proven ability to drive innovation and growth. Reporting to the Global Head of Segment, based in South Africa, your main responsibilities are:

  • Global responsibility for Product, including Strategy Implementation, Category Management, Product Management, Product Development and Technical Design.
  • Define product vision, roadmap, and lifecycle management processes.
  • Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitive products to identify opportunities and threats, with focus on the end consumer’s preferences and expectations.
  • Oversee the global product portfolio, ensuring a balanced mix of products that meet global market demands.
  • Lead the product development process from ideation through to launch.
  • Collaborate with product development, engineering, and design teams to ensure product feasibility and innovation.
  • Drive continuous product improvements and cost reduction initiatives by means of value analysis and value engineering (VA/VE) methodology.
  • Work closely with international manufacturing teams, development engineers, marketing, sales and operations.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Based in South Africa or prepared to move there. International travel to be expected.

 

Your profile :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in product management within the recreational retail product segment or related industries, with at least 5 years in a global leadership position.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing product lifecycles and driving product innovation.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, working with various stakeholders during product development processes.
  • Experience in working in an international set-up, work across different continents and especially working with Chinese companies and people.
  • Experience in working with Microsoft Office 365 tools, ERP & PDM/PLM Systems, CAD & CAE tools, etc.
  • Fluent business English.
