Abraservice Group is looking for an experienced and engaged General Manager to our French business and operations. As a General Manager of Abraservice France you will have the overall responsibility for running the French entity, while being part of the international group of Abraservice.

About the position
Abraservice France serves the French market and the entity employs in total 55 people. Our steel processing workshop and support functions are located in Saint-Marcel, just outside Chalon-sur-Saône (71). We carry a well-assorted stock of wear steel products and our steel processing capabilities cover thermal cutting, forming, machining, and welding. We have full geographical coverage of the French market thanks to local sales agencies across the country.
As the General Manager of Abraservice France you will be overall responsible for the entity’s sales, production and support functions. The local finance team reports to Abraservice’s mother company (SSAB), with dotted reporting line to the local General Manager.
The position is located in Saint-Marcel (71) and includes some travels within France, and occasionally to other parts of Europe. The General Manager reports to Abraservice Group’s Head of South & West Europe.
Main responsibilities
- P&L responsibility for the entity, including overall responsibility for commercial and operational results
- Responsible for safety and work environment compliance to local regulations and Abraservice Group directives
- Being an instrumental driver for the French business growth in line with Abraservice Group’s strategy, in close collaboration with the local Sales Manager
- Ensure efficiency and effectiveness in operations for production as well as for support functions
- Lead and motivate the organization
- Responsible for regulatory compliance and reporting to relevant authorities, as well as to Abraservice Group
About you
- Relevant experience from role similar to General Manager, or Sales/Operations Director
- Preferably experience from the steel or closely related technical industry (as producer or customer)
- Entrepreneur at heart – you are result-oriented and passionate about business and people development
- You have a proven leadership track record. We are looking for someone who is grounded, and who has strong inter-personal and communication skills. You are motivated by teamwork and helping others to grow and develop. You are used to handle decision-making.
- Experience from lean or similar manufacturing concepts is meriting
- Preferably technical and/or commercial higher education
- Fluent in French, both spoken and written. Comfortable to speak and write professionally in English.
- Living within commuting distance to Saint-Marcel (71) or ready to move there
